Intercantonal Confederation of Public Education of French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino

The Intercantonal Conference of Public Education and Culture of French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino (CIIP) is an institution responsible for coordinating and managing harmonized projects in education, training, and culture for Latin Switzerland, founded in 1874. The French-speaking part of the vocational education teaching resources system is managed by UMER-FP and CREME. Ticino benefits from a similar system directly linked to the canton, the GLIMI. The intercantonal bodies CREME and GLIMI collaborate, in particular, with SEFRI, the cantons, and their schools to carry out their tasks.

UMER-FP

The Unit for French-speaking Vocational Education Teaching Resources (UMER-FP) is a division of the SG-CIIP. It designs and adapts teaching resources according to the needs of training institutions in French-speaking Switzerland, across all fields and professions. To do this, it creates and coordinates editorial groups composed of teachers from the relevant profession and ensures that the educational content produced aligns with federal training regulations. Finally, it manages the publishing and distribution of teaching resources in French-speaking Switzerland.

CREME

The French-speaking Commission for the Evaluation of Teaching Resources (CREME) is a permanent commission of the CIIP. It maintains links with the realities of vocational schools in French-speaking Switzerland and assesses the needs for teaching resources in line with developments in vocational education. If a need is unanimously identified, it requests UMER-FP to develop the teaching resource in collaboration with the schools concerned.
